Title: Cognos Planning 10.1.1 installation
Post by: sdf on 02 Sep 2014 01:37:53 AM
Hi Guys,

This would be my first time in installing Cognos Planning.
I found the installers and some documents for the installation and configuration.
But im overwhelmed with so much info on the documentations.
Can you somehow direct me to a general view of the actual installation?
We are planning to install cognos planning on a single server, all my installers are on 32bit.
1. Cognos Planning Administration
2. Cognos Planning server
3.Cognos Planning Client
4.Cognos Planning Gateway

Should i create content store and planning store first before installation?

How will the installation differ if we plan to integrate Cognos Planning with cognos BI?

thanks in advance!

You can install software first and later create content and planning store. You need them for the configuration part, not for installation.
There is no difference in installation if you plan it to integrate with BI or not.

But the installer used for a standalone Planning requires the Cognos PLanning complete installer.
When integrating Planning with BI server, we have to use the specific component installers.
Also when integrating PLanning to BI, we have to install some components to the PLanning server and other components to BI server.

Correct me if im wrong.
