Hi,

This statement makes no sense. You can't burst an MHT active report output as an Excel output. If you burst an Active Report, you end up with multiple MHT files which are the active report outputs, and these can be saved, sent via email or delivered to mobile devices.

If you burst a non-active report, you can choose what format the output is in - ie HTML, PDF, Excel, CSV - and you end up with multiple outputs which can be saved, sent via email or delivered to mobile devices.

If you send outputs via email and the output is an Active Report MHT, a user on a mobile device can open the MHT attachment and the device will prompt them to allow viewing in the Cognos Mobile app (if it is installed). If you send outputs via email and they are non-active report outputs, the user will not be prompted to open them in the Cognos Mobile app. In that case it would be better to use the "Run and send to Mobile Device" option when bursting the report.

Cheers!

MF.

Hey MF,

My mistake... should have said MHT instead of XL.

Anyways, when they find the MHT attached, they can download the file... but when they click on it... it doesn't ask them to take it to cognos app; rather opens a garbage mime value screen.

Does this help?

The link I posted above is a support article suggesting several solutions to this exact issue. Have you read it? Did you try any of the solutions? If so, which ones? What email provider are you using? Do you have the app installed on your device?

Thanks MFGF, I had missed this earlier.
I tried this solution today and it didn't work for IBM Cognos Mobile App for Good Technology.

Ohhh - so it's the specific variant of the App for Good Technology? I'd log a call with IBM on this. I've heard of a few issues with getting it to work - I think they are environment-related rather than any pronblem with the App per se.

Good luck!
