Title: Heat Maps in Cognos
Post by: cognos05 on 04 Aug 2014 11:31:33 AM
Hi All,

I am trying to have a heat map based on the requirements. Showing the heat map in the form of hot spot analysis. I group my data based on zipcodes and create custom layers and I have to have a heat map drawn based on mym measure values.

When I researched I think this is notp ossible using mapmanager or map info professional.

Even ESRi Maps doesnt have this feature . It provides heat maps based on the proximity(on how close the points are) and not based on any measure value.

They have an group option based on different size you can group and show the data and this has only a maximum of 7 groups size allowed.

Any suggestions on heat maps with any other tools.

Thanks,
Nithya

Are you referring to a cartographic map or a heat map?

If you really do mean a heat map, then there is a RAVE visualization which does exactly this - you can download it from the Analyticszone website

Cheers!
