Title: Folders Disappearing from Cognos Connection
Post by: Raghuvir on 30 Jul 2014 09:06:52 AM
hi all,

this may be a silly post but i encountered this today when some of the folders and reports which we recently made and saved in the public folders are not to be seen on the location anymore. we are using cognos version 10.1

one more issue we are facing is we are not able to search the reports using the search option in this version.

is this a bug in our system or the version of cognos ?

Any guidance ?

Regards

As far as the search functionality, Cognos 10 is different from Cognos 8. The administrator needs to do some set up and update the index and also schedule it to run. Unless the index has been created the search results are going to be blank. I would check the Installation & Configuration documentation to see the steps.

As far as disappearing folders, can you check to see if they have been hidden? You can go into your My Preferences area and check the box to Show hidden entries. After you show them you can then change the option to unhide them.

thanks for the clarification on the search issue. Do you have the procedure for that ?

the disappearing folder issue has been resolved. It was a error from the server admin team. They left the DR servers online which was creating the issue.
