Title: Incompatibility issues with 8.4.1 and Windows 7 / IE 10
Post by: blom0344 on 28 Jul 2014 03:05:25 AM
When working with Windows 7 64 bit and IE 10 (using compatibility mode ) I can no longer use design mode to develop or modify a report . I can still run an existing report or use  query studio.
When opening a report in report studio a 'quick start' screen opens showing a google entry bar.

Did any one encounter these issues / know a way to solve the peculiar issue?

Hi Ties,

I just checked the conformance page, and 8.4.1 browser support for IE went only as far as IE9. I suspect IE10 is a step too far for a Cognos build this old. You could perhaps try Firefox ESR17 or go back to IE9 (for which you need to be on 8.4.1 FP4).

Cheers!

MF.

Hi Mark,

I grew suspicious cause I managed to use the combination in earlier situations. After running an additional scan with AdwCleaner v3.300  2 malicious services were removed and voila:  everything is back to business once more !!

Cheers,

Ties
