Under a report properties page, there is a place where you can set 'Contact'. What does this apply to? It doesn't do anything with the scheduling. Reports still come from the scheduler's address.
Does it have to do with report version alerts? Kinda stumped and could not find anything on it.
This is just a contact person reference for the report. Owner and contact person can be different or same.
So it's not used for any functionality? It just for informational purposes for other users that have read access on that object?
Yeah, it's purely just contact information. I honestly have never set it because I'm the only one developing reports.
But if you have multiple people, it could be handy to know who built it if there are issues with a report or some such and you need clarification.
