A hospitality management company in Northern Virginia is looking for a SQL report writer that is proficient with IBM Cognos 10. The application has been installed over a year without a dedicated report writer. Primarily four data sources that populate the cubes.
This position can be full time or consultant work.
Responsibilities
Create reports based on different departmental reporting needs.
Consult with departmental subject matter experts for creation of prompted dashboard and scorecard development to assist management.
Report testing to ensure data and report quality.
Creation and maintenance of financial reports (profit and loss and balance sheet).
Key metric reporting.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Two or more years of IBM Cognos 10, SQL, report writing, and database experience.
Experience working with decision makers and staff to create reports and solve data requests.
Desired Skills
Skilled in writing SQL queries.
Proficiency in IBM Cognos 10.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
Working knowledge of GAAP.
Ability to write ad hoc queries for report data validation.
Problem solving, analysis, and testing.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Detail oriented, able to meet deadlines, and organized.
