Title: Images do not display in Excel 2007 or PDF formats
Post by: Adrian on 20 Jun 2014 09:49:29 AM
First off, apologies if this is a topic covered before.  I tried searching but found nothing fitting my problem.

My company is currently using Cognos 10.1.
I have inserted a company logo in a report and it renders perfecting when running the report in HTML but it returns a broken link when I run the report in Excel 2007 or PDF.  Strange thing is the image does render if I run the report using the Excel 2002 option.

Why not simply run reports in Excel 2002 I hear you ask, the formatting and column widths do not come out with the same consistency I gain in Excel 2007, plus the problem is still there for PDF format.

I have tried both relative and absolute address types (../samples/images/logo_WHITE.png and http://servername/cognos10/samples/images/logo_WHITE.png)

The example above uses .png image type, I get the same results for jpeg and gif image files.

I read somewhere that suggested setting the cognos server(s) as a trusted location in the trust center in excel, this made no difference.

I've been searching for a resolution for weeks with no luck, please tell me there is an answer!  :-[

Kind Regards

Did you try one of these two solutions, and how did it fare?

And don't forget about WebDAV.  You need to enable it as part of your image usage as well, I think.

Here is a KB post dealing with security perm's as well.
