Hi Folks,

Apologies if this is answered elsewhere - I ran a search and didn't find anything.

I'm looking for a way to extract the contents of the schedules that are set up in Cognos Connection. The schedules themselves are all saved in one folder, and I can extract a list of them using Motio PI. What I'm trying to get to is a list of the reports that are included in those schedules.

Every so often someone will say that they normally receive a report by email, but that they haven't received it this week. They might have some idea of what it's called, and possibly when they should have received it, but not the actual report location or accurate name. Rather than trawl through each schedule I'd like to have a list of scheduled reports to make it easier to check.

I recognise it would be a static list that would need to be updated...but it would be better than what I've got at the moment.

Any suggestions? I'm running C10.2 on a SQL server, and I've got MotioPI Free. If MotioPI Pro will do the job I'll see if I can write a business case for the license fee  ;)

We have a system in place which, although it doesn't answer your question about finding the reports contained in schedules, might provide an answer to

First thing is to set up a Cognos service account in the company's email system. We use Outlook, and I have the service account "associated" (sorry, don't know the exact term) to my personal account, so I can see both in the same instance of Outlook. Then, in Cognos, many of our jobs, including all of those which dispatch reports by email, have this service account as cc: recipient.

In case of questions, it's easy to look into the service account and see who received what, including the reports themselves (which is more than you would get from querying the schedules). Of course, the service account requires housekeeping, i.e. deleting the oldest mails. I find that keeping two to three months is sufficient.
