Hi,

we have a requirement in which we need to create a macro in CAC.

The requirement is as below:

Create a GTP macro at the Cognos Planning environment that:

a) Publish the data
b) Creates a backup of the planning application db
c) Creates a backup of the planning publish container db
d) Performes the GTP

Could please anyone confirm if we can implement such requirement? Is it possible to do in CAC?

We are using Cognos Planning 10.1.1.

P.S: I am new to Cognos Planning application hence needed your valuable information. Thanks in advance.

SGD,

a & d are doable but I wouldn't try the db backups from a CAC macro. I would leave that to the dba's to configure a backup. Likely they already have something in place and just need to add the new schema's to the list of items that get backed up.

But can please anyone confirm whether is it possible to take db backup using Macro or not?
