Post by: sdf on 01 Jun 2014 10:49:53 PM
Hi,

Can anyone tell me where can I download Cognos access manager 7, 7.4 or 7.5?

Also to know if access manager is the same with CAM.

Thanks!

Access Manager 7.5 is one of the components of the Cognos 7 suite of products. If you have licenses and current support for Cognos 7, you can go to the Passport Advantage site and download the relevant CS7 product. Access Manager does not ship with ReportNet, Cognos 8 or Cognos 10, although if you have an existing CS7 Access Manager security namespace you can point at this from these products.

CAM is not the same as Cognos Series 7 Access Manager. CAM is a component of the Content Manager processing in ReportNet/Cognos 8/Cognos 10. It handles the interface between your security provider (eg Active Directory/LDAP/CS7 Access Manger etc) and your Cognos BI instance, allowing you to use the external provider to authenticate users in your Cognos instance. It also allows you to define authorization (ie to specify what each user/group/role can see and do).

Does this mean that automatically it is installed together with Content Manger?

Thanks! I was able to download Access Manager Administration 7.5, it is bundled in the Series 7 PopwerPlay Tansformer 7.5 installer.
But im having a hard time getting the version 7 and 7.4 form IBM software access catalog.

CAM is a part of the Content Manager, yes. It's not Cognos Series 7 Access Manager though.

If you have Access Manager Admin 7.5 you shouldn't need anyting else?

Thanks MF,

do you happen to know any stand alone installer for Cognos Access Manager?
I was informed before that in Cognos Supplementary Software  7.4 (solsupp) the installer for Access manager is in a seperate folder.
I found Cognos Impromptu and it has Solsupp but when i check there's no Access Manager in it.

I don't ever remember Access Manager being a standalone install. As far as my dim old memory can recall, it gets installed as part of Impromptu or PowerPlay etc.

Cheers!

Base 7.3 use to have a separate install I think (solsupp stuff) but that's around 10 years old.  Hasn't been a separate one since.
