Congratulations on writing a book. I see this is your first and only post on Cognoise, so congratulations also for using social media to promote your work. What comes along with social media is comment and critique, so here are my thoughts and suggestions.
I've not read the entire book so my comments are based on the table of contents and sample content available through the Amazon link you provided.
You chose to omit sections on Cognos Workspace, Cognos Workspace Advanced, Active Reports, and TM1. Instead you included chapters on Query Studio, Analysis Studio and Transformer. While these three older tools still have a presence, I'd suggest that including those while omitting the new Cognos 10 tools makes your book come across as a Cognos 8 book rather than a solid Cognos 10 resource.
The sample content on Amazon covers the first few sections in the data warehousing chapter, but to me it seems like a lot of oversimplified information, often nothing more than single line definitions, which provide no context to inform a prospective Cognos modeler or report writer. For example:
QuoteData cleansing Is a process of converting inconsistencies into consistencies and removing unwanted data
QuoteData scrubbing Is a process of delivering new data definitions according to the user requirements
I'd suggest that this type of definitional content is lacking in context or detail and does little to advance understanding or to enhance the ability to apply these concepts to one's own situation.
None of the screenshot assisted examples made it into the sample content so perhaps your customers will find those to be of value.
Best of luck and please feel free to apply your knowledge about the Cognos suite of products by helping others here on the forum. There are a lot of beginners here who benefit daily from the numerous kind and knowledgeable contributors here.
Thank you very much for reviewing and giving the insights which will help to refine the book.
I will update with the suggestions given by you.
When coming to the TM1, Active Reports I don't have much exposure. I appreciate if anyone contributes on these topics so that I can provide credits to them in the book.
As you said it will be nice if a learner gain the skills needed to develop the reports.

Will you provide a commensurate slice of the loyalties you make, too? I would be quite tempted in that situation! :-)
