Title: Saving a Scheduled report after run
Post by: Desperado on 20 Jun 2007 09:46:27 AM
Hi All,

I have a report that is scheduled to run every week. The report pdf has to be saved in public folders for the users to access.
The user is requesting for the previous weeks reports also.... he wants this weeks report and last weeks report , so that he can compare both if necessary.... but as per my schedule, it will overwrite the existing report.
is there any way that i can save the report with the dynamic week name..... something like
"weeklyreport for the period 10-07-07 to 17-07-07.pdf "
thanks in advance

I'm assuming you're saving your reports to the Cognos Content store, ie. the output is available through Cognos Connection. If that's the case, go to the Properties screen for the report in question: at the bottom should be two options, "Run History" and "Report Output Versions", and each lets you set either a number of occurrences (by default, 5 for run history, 1 for output versions) or a number of days.

Note that you need write permission on the report to set these values.

Setting these appropriately will allow you to keep X number of report runs (or any number of report runs for X days) in the content store for future reference and comparison.

Hope this helps.
