Title: hide prompt page
Post by: grepalyc on 15 Jun 2007 04:25:58 AM
Hi folks,

I have an RS report which has some prompt pages and filters. I also have an AS report, and from there I can drill through to the first report. My problem is, that I don't want the RS report to show the prompt pages when I'm drilling through from the AS report, because the drill through also filters the report. I only want to see the prompt page when I run the RS report "standalone". Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

I can think of a couple things to try.  First, in the RS report, eliminate the prompt page.   If you have unresolved parameters, it will automatically prompt you for them, however if your drill through satisfies them, it won't prompt you.

I'm guessing that what I just suggested won't be very convenient for you though, because you won't be able to use filters in your prompts, or any other fancy layout options you used on the prompt page.

What I would really suggest would be to create a copy of the RS report, and bury it in some subfolders.  Take the prompt page out of this copied report, and have your AS report point to this RS report instead of the one with the prompt page.

Thanks for your replies,

Your second suggestion about having two separate copies of the report is the winner. It came to my mind too, but I thinked it's the "cheap" way. But I don't care anymore, let that be the solution...
