Title: Cognos ReportNet and Infinium
Post by: cognosgirl on 13 Sep 2005 05:01:30 PM
We have multiple namespaces because we are using Active Directory and the Infinium namespaces.Ã,  We have a user (just one) that is suddenly unable to login to the Infinium namespace.Ã,

We had this issue with a user earlier this summer and were never able to resolve.Ã,  He has since left the company ââ,¬â€œ so we stopped investigating.Ã,  Now we have another user with the exact same issue.Ã,  User was able to run reports last week and this morning is not able to.Ã,  When she tries to login ââ,¬â€œ the system takes an excessive amount of time and then finally returns the error ââ,¬ËœUnable to find serverââ,¬â,,¢ or ââ,¬ËœService Unavailableââ,¬â,,¢.Ã,  We have restarted the services on the ReportNet server, rebooted the ReportNet server ââ,¬â€œ no luck.Ã,  Our AS400 admins have checked their system and the AS400/Infinium security for the user and everything is fine and nothing has changed since last week.Ã,  Users sitting right next to this user can login on both their computers and her computer.Ã,

We talked to Infinium support and they suggest restarting our CRN database.Ã,  However, this will involve stopping our SQL services and we have 20+ databases for other applications.Ã,  Before we do this, we just wanted to see if anyone else has had similar issues and if so, did this correct it?

Anyone using the ReportNet HR/Payroll package provided by Infinium?Ã,

An off-topic advice:

Next time when you perform a migration / upgrade move your Content Store to a separate SQL server instance. Than you can stop and start CRN whenever you want

Sorry, but I can't be of any more assistance to you.

Good luck!
