Title: cognos services not starting

Hi All,

I have installed a new instance of cognos 10.2 on my machine, but i am unable to start the cognos services. Request you the refer the attached screenshot for the error. i am unable to fing out whats gone wrong during the installation/configuration process.

Request you to guide me towards possible solutions.

Did you check cogserver.log file ?

Are there any other errors ?

i had this error once.
In my case my report server execution mode in my cognos configuration under environment was set to 64bit.
After changing to 32 bit, i was able to start my cognos server.
According to IBM site, you have to match the version of IBM cognos with the version of Java your machine is using.

Probably your JAVA_HOME setting is wrong. Adjusto to Java installed in Cognos installation folder.
