Title: [Resolved] Prompt Usage in Report Studio defined in Framework Manager
Post by: spmaganti on 04 Feb 2014 11:03:34 AM
Folks

I have a prompt defined in Frame Work Manager for a query item [Currency] as follows:

[Modeling Layer].[FX].[Currency] = ?promptCurrency?

I am using this query item [Currency] in the report studio and have also defined a value prompt in report studio with the same parameter 'promptCurrency' in order to suppress the server generated prompt. However the server generated prompt still appears when I run the report.

Any Ideas

Thanks and Regards

When you create the prompt, you can select existing prompts from 'Use existing parameter' drop down.

When you say "server generated prompt" does that imply that there's a prompt built into the framework manager? If that's the case I don't know if you're able to suppress it.

The issue has been resolved now. This has been caused due to another error in the report.

Yes this is a prompt built into the framework manager and by default generates a server prompt which could be suppressed by defining your own prompt in the report.

Thanks for all your replies.
