Title: Migrate application where initially it was configured with LAE
Post by: atoz on 05 Jun 2007 01:48:19 AM
The story goes as follows,
We restored database to SQL server. Then within contributor admin for import/ upgrade application, at this stage it gave the error as ‘namespace’ could not be found.
Hence the previous LAE was added to access manager. Even though the LAE is imported to directory server, same error of ‘namespace’ kept coming.
Now another PAD (pad_live_1) is created as original PAD (pad_live) is configured with directory server. Here again application was added via import/upgrade application. At this stage the application was added successfully however now adding job server is giving trouble.
It says ‘This job server is already member of another PAD (pad_live). Please remove the same before you can add it here.’
However now if we log on to pad_live it doesn’t show any details including applications, job servers etc.

How to proceed?

You have multiple issues now with your installation.  Since they are intertwined, my recommendation would be to work with Cognos Support to get it straightened out.  Advice to fix one issue is going to adversely affect your other problems.

I think you should forget the initial PAD.  Use PAD_LIVE_1, it seems clean other than not being able to add the job server.

To clean the job server run <install_location>\bin\epPlanningService.exe /cleanup.  You should then be able to add the job server to PAD_LIVE_1

Hi Ovo,

I ran the service to cleanup job server but problem still persists.

Is there any alternative?

Regards.
