Hi All,
We are currently using Cognos 10.2.
And oracle 11 g enterprise edition 11.2.0.3.0 version as content store.
Recently our DB team came up with, as part of some maintance activity they are upgrading all DBs in organization and cognos content store also involved in it.
New version of oracle will be oracle 11 g enterprise edition 11.2.0.4. I am not getting detailed information which says this version is supported by cognos 10.2. I can find oracle 11 g enterprise edition release 2 is supported. But I am not able to find detail version number supported.
Is anybody having idea on it ? Or if you are using cognos 10.2 with oracle as content store, Could you please check your oracel version for me ? Please let me know if it is the same as which we are going to upgrade.

Hi,
As it lists "Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 1 Release 2" I take that to mean than any 11.1 or 11.2 EE build is supported as a content store. If you want to be doubly sure, check with IBM support, but my feeling is it's a pretty safe bet you will be ok.
Cheers!
MF.
Hi MF,
Thanks a lot for your reply.
I was also under same impression but wanted to confirm this once.
Will there be any other activity(besides below) which I will need to keep in mind for this
Content store backup, installation directory backup, configuration backup, restarting environment once activity is completed by DB team, basic testing of env once activity completes
Hi,
To be safe you might think about doing a full deployment (export) of the content store and keeping the deployment archive file somewhere safe. Belt and braces I know, but it's best to plan for every eventuality.
Cheers!
MF.
Thanks for your feedback.
