Title: Performance Modeler 10.2 Drill does not work
Post by: Paul Pichler on 27 Jan 2014 08:22:46 AM
Dear Cognos Community,

I have the following issue using the drill through functionality in IBM Cognos Performance Modeler 10.2:

Since it is not possible to create drill processes and rules in Performance Modeler, i have created a relational drill through process to an ODBC source in Architect, which works properly.

However, when trying to use the drill functionality in Performance Modeler, nothing happens. I use the same view as in Architect, right cick a value in the view to open the context menu, and then choose 'Drill', but there is nothing happening in the following. In Architect, it shows me the single values which the value in TM1 consists of.

Has somebody come across this issue?

Thanks and BR,
Paul

From my experience with PM 10.2 there have been a few things that I have been forced to go to Architect to complete. It looks like in PM you can only complete Drill Links not drill processes. I would raise this with IBM so that you can get clarification on their intentions with this process going forward and if this is truly a defect they can resolve it in future releases. I am still not seeing a complex TM1 model being fully built in PM 10.2 as I am taking a blended approach of PM and Architect.

The relational drill through feature requires support on the client. It is not yet implemented in the TM1 Performance Modeler/Cognos Insight clients.
