i am using cognos 10.2 and firefox 26.0. it doesn't seem to be a browser specific problem as all the browsers are showing same output. when i open report studio to create a new report, i select the package and then the report studio opens. but none of the butons in the toolbar is clickable. i see a lock button in the toolbar which is also not clickable.

As Khayman noted, it does appear that this is the same issue you also raised in the seperate thread http://www.cognoise.com/index.php/topic,23539.0.html

If that's right, did you try Khayman's suggestion on that thread?  What happened when you did?

edit: I'm 99.9% sure that you've launched Report Studio but not opened any report, or blank template.  You can see in your screenshot from the other thread that no report name is in the top of the Firefox frame - just the words "IBM Cognos Report Studio - Mozilla Firefox".  Usually if you have a report open then it's name will also be displayed here (see attached example).

As Khayman said - click on 'Open', browse to the report and open it.  Or alternatively browse to the report in Cognos connection and click on the 'Open with Report Studio' icon - next to properties.  It looks like a Set Square (triangle).

Sir,
The screenshot i attached there comes when i click on the 'Open with Report Studio' icon - next to properties. The same is the result when i open a report studio and select a package to work upon. Just to reiterate, none of the buttons in the menu or toolbar is clickable.

i think you better get your hands on some report studio beginners guide .... and start reading...

is there a thing as Report Studios for Dummies (I'm not implying anything, I just think the 'for Dummies' books are well designed to be easily understood by beginners)?
