Hi Cognoise community, we all well??
I have a report I am bursting to users email accounts daily. The bursted report is a summary and carries less detail than when accessed via HTML.
I'd like to include a link in the report I burst to users that will send them through and automatically run the report for them (without having to navigate through folders in Connection Manager).
When I run the report in Connection Manager, I seem to be able to re-use the HTML to get to and automatically launch the report, but will this always work (assuming the navigation path didn't in Connection Manager to the report didn't change)?
Thanks!
Hi,
Provided the report path doesn't change, the URL should remain stable. This obviously doesn't apply to saved report outputs, though.
Cheers!

Thanks for that!
Can I have a clickable url address on bursted emails? The URL for the report is too long and unsightly to use, is there a way I can hide the URL behind a piece of text in Cognos (i.e. "Click Here")
(FYI regarding this challenge: I tried using a drill-through definition initially to the report I wanted to load. This didn't work as the email (seemingly) doesn't recognise it as anything but text.)
Hi,
Find the desired target report in Cognos Connection and go into its properties. Select the "View the search path, ID and URL" link in the top right corner and copy the Default Action URL (this assumes the default action is set to run the report).
Now go into your source (burst) report in Report Studio and drag in a Hyperlink object from the toolbar. Change it's Text property to be whatever you want it to appear as (eg Click Here) and paste the URL into the URL property.
Cheers!
MF.
Thanks MFGF,
A bit late in the day but the solution works!
Thanks for the help.
