Hi all,
anyone come across a situation where Cognos Express Manager 10.1 service does not run possibly due to a large set of updates on Windows Server 2008 R2, including security updates .NET Framework 4 Client Profile?
Yes, it says 4 instead of the recommended 3.5, does it matter?
When restarting everything from the Express Manager front page the end result is that there it says Manager is stopped and all the Advisor, Planner etc give warning:
"A dependency of this product is in an unhealthy state: Manager"
Windows services listing shows everything is running. Cognos Configuration suggests the same.
In Architect you can't see the CXMD which was there before.
Restart -cycle produceds in cogserver.log -file only one warning:
"CM-REQ-4296 An HTTP request to the connector "{connector}" timed out."
In the end it says
"DPR-SYS-6000 The product is ready to use."
but quite clearly it's not...
Sorry can't be more specific as I don't really know what is relevant and what is not..!
Solved, I guess..
Finally in tm1server.log there were lines
123232 [] FATAL 2013-12-30 11:16:48.567 TM1.Transaction TM1TransactionLog::ProcessTransactionLog: Bad transaction log record, line number 1.
123232 [] FATAL 2013-12-30 11:16:48.567 TM1.Server Server terminated
which led to find this

I deleted the tm1s.log -file as suggested and restarted the services which run ok.
Now rebooted the server and the problem did not occur as suggested, so.. I don't know. Maybe a one-time error because of massive updates to Windows.
