Can someone tell me what XSUM and XMIN do in SQL? I cannor find them defined in the documentation.

The X stands for extended. Your report is probably doing some arithmetic on the application outside of the database that is generating these xsums and xmins. If they are hinderance, then try rewriting the report to push the calcs onto the database.
