Title: Why we hide database layer in Framework Manager
Post by: inu on 06 Dec 2013 10:38:35 PM
Hi

While publishing the package in Framework Manager, we hide the database layer, i dont know why we peple do this, and only presentation layer is kept in the package.
The question is , instead of hiding the database layer, why dont we unselect it direclty if not required in report generation. what will be if we unselect it, and what is the use of hiding the database layer. Please you experts people try to clear my duaghts.

Regards

The model layer references the database layer. If you unselect the database layer , then Cognos will inform you that it will still publish the database layer to enable the package to work. In other words : 'works as designed'
