Hi,

   I am new to Cognos BI. Please anyone can help me to cutomize!!!!!
I am planning to set up security in cognos configuration.
Authentication Provider :Active Directory Server.
Is Namespace of name and Namespace ID should be same on it?
What is AD with SSO?. Shall we create AD namespace without SSO?
So, Please tell me the steps to follow to create new namespace for AD.

After we ceated Ad namespace on cognos configuration and restarted the service, the namespace is not appearing in security on IBM cognos Adminstration. It only appears cognos namespace.


Is anything we have missed? Please anyone help to resolve this issue.

It's impossible to say - you haven't detailed the steps you took to get to this point. Telling us "we ceated Ad namespace on cognos configuration" doesn't tell us how you defined your configuration. It's like saying "I fixed the car and it's still broken. Did I miss anything? :)

     Thanks for your reply. But, I have solved the issue after I deleted and recreate the AD namespaceon cognos Configuration.

Ok - that's good news! It points to your original configuration settings being incorrect. If you had told us what you did we may have been able to pinpoint the mistake so that you'd know what to look for in future.

MFGF - why the cognos main page is taking a long time or loading to open for giving user credential.

Sometimes, it works fine and sometimes not working. Is there anything missing on configuration.

Hi,

Didn't we just do this dance? How can we know if there is anything missing when you haven't given us any details on how your configuration is defined?

Also, are there any errors recorded in cogserver.log?

Hi Everyone,

     I am getting this error after implemented data security in framework manager.
Actually, I added user into Querusers and grant permission(Even gave read, write, execute, traverse) to exectue the package. I logged in to queryusers and click on query my data and trying to run report. But getting this error like "XQE-DS-0009 Data source '<DataSourceName>' was not found in Content Manager"

But, I can execute the package as different user.

Please anyone to help this Issue.

Hmmm. When you define data source connections you can specify security on a connection - this controls whether a user can use that connection. Normally the security is that everyone has access. If you go to the properties of the data source, what permissions are defined on it?

For the other issue, it looks to me like you may have an incorrectly defined dispatcher in your config. You still haven't detailed how you have defined your configuration, so it's just a guess on my part...
