I am a novice with Cognos and I'm trying to customize the login page.
I've changed everything that needs to be changed and added.
Updated the system.xml and creating my login page (LoginTest.xhtml)
Our set-up is we have a gateway outside of our network that talks to our cognos server (single server configuration). I made the changes on our backend server (inside our network) and my new login page was not showing up.
Did the same changes on the gateway server (server outside our network) and still my new login page was not showing up, not that I expected it because Presentation Service is not running on this server.
So did a quick modification, by-passed the gateway for testing purposes and set-up the backserver to also be the web server and voilà my new login page showed. But that's not how it's suppsed to work, the gateway needs to be there.
My questions are:
- does Presentation Service need to be on the gateway server also?
- can I have the Presenation Service running on multiple server? (on both servers in this case)
- or is there something else that I'm missing?

A gateway only install doesn't have any services aside from the web server.
Presentation service should be present on all Dispatcher installs.

There is no option login/logoff in IBM cognos protal. We have only option to click for IBM cognos content, and other stuff except the login and logoff on right corner of the page. How we can setup this page?

It sounds like your Cognos instance isn't configured to point to an authentication provider? If you look at the Cognos Configuration utility on the server hosting Content Manager, is there an authentication provider defined?

Why getting this error when I restart the service in cognos configuration.

Also, The Cognos web page is still loading and doesn't open up to enter the user credentials. This happens for every instances on different server.
Please anyone help me to resolve this issue.
