Title: LDAP <-> Cognos Configuration Manager Mappings
Post by: hansi on 20 Nov 2013 03:35:36 AM
Hi All,

I am using LDAP as means of authentication, however, it is proving difficult to get this working since I do not know how to map the values from LDAP into the Cognos Configuration Manager.
I have created an LDAP Namespace in the Configuration Manager and tested the connection, which seems to be fine. Does anyone have an example showing a user created in LDAP & how it's mapped into the Config Manager ?

Thanks!

There is no common LDAP configuration. It's going to be slightly different with each LDAP. It may be vastly different if the LDAP admins have made major changes to the LDAP Schema (Such was the case in my last position, what a PITA).

Anywho, the best I can suggest is to talk to your LDAP admin to get the proper values.

Other than that I'd suggest "Googling" LDAP Browser and using this little util to explore your LDAP and gather the proper values.
