Hi!
I have problem with publishing secure PowerCube.... I create new datasource, pointing to secured cube, pass user and passwor (wich works normaly in PowerPlay) and get error log on message. Then I follow instruction from guide to set up Cognos 8 to use series 7 namespace and found out that in Configuration manager for sreies 7 I dont have "services-access manager - web authentication" folder to adjust cookie setting...
What I should do, any ideas?
Thanx in advance
Goran
First, 3 exclamation points are just annoying. One should suffice.
As for AM, make sure you use Advanced Mode in Configuration Manager.
sorry for that annoying, I will be polite next time :-[
I'm using advanced mode but still there is no option for web authentication, but even thou I succeed to publish cube logging first to Framework Manager. Point that I wanted to hit is to have security on category level, and it not work (for me) with secure cube.
Actually I prepared report as unrestricted user including dimension which is restricted for some users, and saved it in public folder, when I logged as restricted user report was empty even I had rights on part of it.
Can anybody help me to set up security on categories and dimensions (to prevent some users to have access to some categories or dimensions) in C8 but on PowerCube as data source?
1. Create some Access Manager security, with users belonging to some user classes
2. Secure your cube, by creating dimension views and associating them with user classes
3. Make sure you've installed all required components for the Access Manager SERVICE and configure it
4. Configure PPES to publish to Cognos 8 (forget FM)
... OR ...
1. Call a consultant to do it all for you

Somehow, this seems like a conflict of interest... ;)
Sorry ... Deeply sorry ...
