Hello,

Can someone explain what is the purpose of creating a channel to other portlet for a dashboard in Cognos connection,

A channel is simply a method of communication between portlets. For example, if you have a Navigation Portlet and a Cognos Viewer portlet, you can select a report in the Navigation Portlet and display the report output in the Cognos Viewer portlet. The channel allows the communication between the two portlets so the viewer can respond to the report selected in the navigator.
