The primary job responsibility of the Cognos Developer/Business Analyst is to gather requirements from end users and create reports, dashboards and other business intelligence from databases and a BI data warehouse. This position will focus on the mission critical AdBase Advertising application and supporting end users by developing reporting solutions to meet their business needs. Responsibilities include working with the Advertising and Finance end user community to facilitate the development and implementation of new reporting solutions and working with IT staff to manage the data models and delivery mechanisms for the Cognos reporting solutions.
Candidates must have the ability to work in the United States without a current or future need for visa sponsorship.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meet with decision makers, support staff, and end users to gather, analyze and define reporting requirements and goals.
- Work with IT staff and Data Warehouse Administrator to manage the reporting structures, the data models and delivery mechanisms for all reporting solutions.
- Using recognized report writing tools (Cognos,Crystal Reports), develop, test and deliver user friendly reports, drill downs and dashboards that meet the end user and business reporting requirements.
- Act as a liaison to the user community and facilitate continued development and implementation of new and improved reporting solutions.
- Responsible to the user community to answer day to day questions regarding reporting problems.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Two to three years of relational databases experience and SQL query skills.
- Knowledge of IBM Cognos BI Reporting tools, including Report Studio, Query Studio, Framework Manager and Analysis Studio, is required.
- One to two years development experience with Crystal Reports and/or other reporting tools is a plus.
- Experience working with end users to identify and gather business requirements to solve data requests.
