Harris-Stowe State University is seeking a subject-matter expert in the field of Business Intelligence (BI) reporting.  This position will play a key role in transitioning the University community of ERP/SIS users away from isolated, ad-hoc reporting processes to formalize report requests and fulfillment in a Cognos 10 reporting environment.  The subject matter expert will be assigned to central IT Services but act as a critical resource throughout the University to assist with business and administrative reporting functions (including but not limited to institutional finance, enrollment management, institutional advancement, and grants reporting.)

The BI analyst will be responsible for analyzing user requirements, designing reports and dashboard solutions based on those requirements, testing, deploying, and maintaining approved reports and dashboards, documenting design changes in reports and dashboards, managing user access to reports and dashboards, providing system administration support for the Cognos reporting environment, recommending improvements on existing reporting standards and policies, training end users in core report writing skills, and other duties as assigned.

The BI analyst will have effective communication skills and be able to work with a variety of individuals to develop and successfully deploy reports and dashboards for the University community.  This individual must have strong technical skills in developing and maintaining Cognos packages and reports, writing SQL queries, and have a solid understanding of database architecture.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or related field required along with three to five years of reporting experience.  Salary, $50,000 to $55,000 annually plus benefits.
