Transformer cube security through Custom Views is thought to be high maintance...I was wondering why is it so??
It's not so bad. Just a pain if you're too granular in your security (IE. Not using groups). Also a pain if you change security providers.
After many years away from Transformer cubes I have a small project to build a cube that requires security by one of the dimensions (organizational) with 5 levels. I can not get the security filters to apply in the resulting MDC. I am looking for what I am missing to make this work.
The BI version is 10.1.0 FP1 running on windows 2003 server. I have many woorking reporting applications using Framework Security filters in this environment. We are using Access Manager 7.4 still running on an old SunOne LDAP.
I set up the cube views, related them to Access Manager Classes, and then set the 12 parent catagories as Apex.
I set my own permissions on the user classes I am using were limited to 3 user classes out of the 12 so I should only see the three catagories I have permission for.
But it does not work. When I open the cube in (10.1.0 FP1) Analysis Studio I see and can navigate all catagories of all the levels of all of the organizational dimension which is the security dimension.
Thanks for any advice.
Did you remember to drag the custom views onto your cube before building it? I almost always forget that last step! :)
