Title: hide list when no data ??
Post by: curious on 23 Sep 2013 05:43:36 AM
I created an acitve report with a tab control in it.
every tabcard contains three lists.

Some lists don't always have data. Although the the property "No data contents"is set to "Content specified in the No data tab" column header are displayed when there are no data.

Is this how an active report acts when there are no data for a selection, or do I have to set some more properties ?

I don't really understand how you build your report?

I made a deck with 2 cards. One has a list with items in it, the other has an empty list. In the properties of the empty list I clicked on the No Data Contents option. I chose Content specified in the No data tab. This will create an extra tab on the card inside the deck. There you can define what to show when the list on that particular card is empty.

This works for me. So could you explain again how your report is build?

Regards,
Hunter

In my report there are a drop-down list and two data drop down lists. These three lists share the same query.
In the first drop-down list the department is selected, with the first data drop down list the sub-department is selected, and the second data drop-down contains the sub-sub department.

The tab contol has four cards.
One for the total company
the second for the selected department
the third for the selected sub-department
the fourth for the selected sub-sub-department

Each tab contains three list form different queries. For every product there is one list showing results for that product.
Because not every department sells all three products, some lists are empty.
Allthough i selected "Content specified in the no data Tab" in the No data data property , an empty list is shown when there are no data. (so not the empry dta tab is displayed)

I cannot understand why lists in an tab card behave different from a normal list when there is no data

I simplified my report to check whether the problem remains .
This is what I have :
table 1 contains the names of four companies A, B, C en D
table 2 contains the results of product green. Only company B en C sell this product.

In drop down list 1 the company is selected
List 2 is filtered by the companyname.

When list 2 doesn't have results, in an active report the list (column headers) is still displayed, in a normal report a message "No data available" is diplayed.

Hi,

I have the same issue. Did you find a workaround to hide or remove the column titles when there is data for a particular combination in the active report?

Thanks,
Alain

Hi,

Did you try the "Visible" property of the column?
