I have a simple bar chart with two calculations as categories on the y axis. Is it possible to assign different palette colors to each one? I can't put them as the series because I need the calculation names as y axis labels.

I think you need a conditional pallet for doing that. I haven't tried it without the information in the series, but I think it'll still work.
I also thought of using a conditional palette but I don't know what I would base my condition on. The only items in the chart are the two calculations that make up the two categories. Defining a condition on those calculations, for example when
- > 0 then green and when [y] > 0 then blue, always results in the first condition evaluating to true and that palette being applied to both categories.
Ermmm...I'm probably missing something but I haven't had my first coffee yet. I think you should be able to have a conditional pallet based on the field that you've got in your Y axis. I've just created a very quick chart and dragged a couple of fields in, then done an advanced condition on the field that I want to alter the bar colour for and it worked fine.
