First day on the site (looks great by the way) and I wanted to post a question but wasn't able to figure out how to imbed a picture. When I click the imbed picture icon, it inserts placeholders for the image such as [img]http://www.cognoise.com/[img] however when i preview the post, its just blank.
After clicking the embed picture icon, what should I do to actually get the picture in the post?
Sorry, I did search for this answer but didn't see any post on how to complete this. Are there any sticky posts with basics on how to use the site that I'm overlooking?

When I want to post images, I generally upload them to ibb, then copy the direct URL for the image that ibb generates and paste it inside an IMG tag in my text. The IMG tags just act as a wrapper to the URL of the image file. Here is an example:
(https://image.ibb.co/jp0oLF/cube.gif)

Thanks MFGF, I appreciate the fast response. Is there a way to imbed without having to create a Photobucket or similar account? I can do that, but I'd rather not have something else to have to keep up with if possible. If not, I do see that you can attach a file, I could always attach a word document, would just be cleaner if there was a method to copy and past right in the post.

OK, finally got it. For anyone else trying to figure this out here is the complete instructions as I couldn't find anything using the site search.
1) After I created a Photobucket account (free 2GB account), uploaded photo.
2) Photobucket creates 4 image tags. You want to copy (click the code in the box itself to copy) the bottom option highlighted here:

3) Simply paste the copied tag directly into the post where you want it to appear. You do not need to use the "Insert Image" icon, just copy it straight in.
I'm sure others just know this but for others who have never used a forum like this before, hope this helps.
