Post by: cogplan on 21 Aug 2013 09:06:16 AM
Hi Techies
I have an issue in hand.
After migrating around 15 applications, I am facing issues with 4-5 applications . Error message seems to be an oracle issue with the tablespace , but still thought of getting some information on this, if any of you have gone through this error.

Unable to execute statement. 1658 ORA-01658: unable to create INITIAL extent for segment in tablespace USERS--the application may be corrupted, you should restore it from a database backup.~~Caused by: org.jawin.COMException: 1b8:
Unable to execute statement. 1658 ORA-01658: unable to create INITIAL extent for segment in tablespace USERS~~~~~

:( :( :(

Kindly do let me know ..

Thanks in Advance
Regards

Hey cogplan,

This seems like an issue with the USERS table space either being inappropriately sized, restricted in size growth, or fragmentation in the tablespace.  This is not an issue with Cognos planning, but rather an issue on the Oracle side of things...

I would involve your DBA to take a look at the error message and work through any Oracle KB docs..

Thanks Eric.
Shall check with them once again. and update on the status what happens.
Even I felt the same with spacing issues.
