Hi All - I'm trying to find out if anyone has experience in modifying the JSON implementation for the new RAVE visualizations in Cognos 10.2.1, and whether or not there is a developer's guide to assist in customizing the visualizations that are available on Analytics Zone.
I have managed to enable the Treemap by Colour by Value visualization after downloading it from AnalyticsZone.com, but it seems as though there is no property for setting the palette, nor conditional formatting based on numeric thresholds (e.g., between 0 and 0.8 must be red, 0.8 - 0.9 is amber and higher than 0.9 is green).
I got as far as making a copy of the visualization and modifying the .JSON file to change the palette, but I'm not sure how to go about changing the threshold values for the purpose of conditional formatting.
Anyone have any ideas?
Hi there !
I'm trying to do the same thing to modify the gauge control.
Tried editing some basic colour pallette settings in the JSON file to see how things looked.
However when I tried to reimport the JSON file it failed.
Can you share how you managed to get the new JSON file imported ?.
Cheers
Nick
I heard whispers that there are some IBMers who have been trained in the dark arts of modifying visualizations. Rumour has it there's some sort of utility they use to package up the visualizations into zip files, but it's not available outside this elite group of ninja gurus :)
If you try to roll your own, I'd imagine you will need to edit the json file (carefully) using trial-and-error until you get it right...
Cheers!
MF.
Details please ?
In Europe, IBM have a "Tiger Team" who make these kinds of changes and get them legalised for release. Contact your IBM account manager and he/she ought to be able to point you in the right direction of who to send the change request in to (within IBM) in your specific part of the world. I think the tool they use makes editing fairly straightforward - the longest part is in getting confirmation that the updated visualizations are legal and cleared for release. Something to do with IBM legal bods classing them as source code, maybe?

About to start messing around with palettes and legend settings. I'll try to post my findings when I have some success.
