Title: Active report doesn´t load on Ipad although it runs fine on Cognos Connection
Post by: leojzamboni on 24 May 2013 11:25:14 AM
The report is quite complex, with three interactive tabs. Each tab contains a list containing a crosstab linked by master detail relationship. Those lists are filtered by three or four controls.

The active report processes in 10 minutes. It runs fine on Cognos Connection (IE 9), with great performance.

When I download the report to Cognos Mobile APP on IPAD, it simply doesn´t load. It keeps processing controls endlessly.

Thanks,

Leonardo

28 MB

The email atatch limit is 50 mb. The app finishes the download fine.

IBM Cognos Connection or on a network drive then it is not unlikely that a file over 20MB would be acceptable. If users are looking for a high level dashboard for a quick overview of their business while on the go then smaller reports that load faster would be best. In order to build useful reports and ensure a successful deployment, the author must carefully examine the use case and determine the best course of action.

Yes, you are right. I´ve made some tests and realized that active reports should not reach more than 13 or 15 MB in order to load fine on Cognos Mobile APP for Ipad. Although the big report runs fine on I.E, it will never load on the Ipad the way it is. The solution will be to divide the big dashboard into smaller ones, so we´ll be able deliver them on mobile devices.

Thank you,
