I need a report that pulls dept allocation information for employees. So far the report I have contains employee name, allocated dept and allocated percent. I need to filter the report so if an employee is allocated to our Purchasing dept it will pull all allocated depts and percents for that employee. For example, if John Doe is allocated 50% to Purchasing, 30% to IT and 20% to Accounting, the report would show all depts and percents.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm pretty new to cognos so I only know simple filters.

As per my understanding from ur post, it seems u need to filter by taking employee name and make employee name GROUPING.
