Title: Unable to import application - the application may be corrupted
Post by: amo77 on 18 Apr 2013 09:07:17 AM
Hi Guys,

I Have problem importing the deployment package in Cognos Planning 10.1.1. The process fails with error "Unable to import application ... - the application may be corrupted". Solution from IBM Support  page http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21616633 suggested to delete clientsettings.xml and contents of "clientsettings" folder in deployment package and it did help in my case. Does anyone know how important are these files and if it is safe to delete them.

Thanks in advance

Hi Amo,

It's completely safe to delete these files and folders.  In 10.1.1 FP2 a new feature (and a defect) was introduced which adds a Favourites and Most Recently Used items to the contributor elist workflow.  With exports from versions prior to 10.1.1 FP2 (such as from 10.1.0 or even 10.1.1 FP1), you will run into this problem.

The defect I'm referring to:

Hope this helps.
