Title: [RS] Using Report Studio and Dundas Charting
Post by: jguevin on 23 Apr 2007 07:23:48 AM
Not sure if this is correct forum for this but I will throw it out there...Is anyone incorporating Report Studio and Dundas Charts?

I have been tasked to look into Dundas and to see if Dundas can do things Report Studio can't as well as will the 2 work together?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

there is a demo in Tutorials section which will show you how to use Dundas in Report Studio.

Go to COGNOS Reportnet  forum and look in the Turorials section.

thanks the tuturial was helpful.  My followup question would be: I believe what was done there could also be done without using Dundas, and using only Report Studio 8.2.  Is there a value add in incorporating Dundas, or is it basically adding more flashy charts and charting capabilities?

thanks again

Hi,

If you dont want to use flashy gauges, charts then using javascript and DHTML (which are fast as they work on the client side itself) will do the required graphs to an extent and this requires indepth knowledge of Javascript. But if you are looking at creating professional looking scorecards and dashboard reports then have to use components like Dundas.
