I have a challenging user. Sigh.
When users perform a % calculation in business insight advanced (v 10.1.1) the new column shows up with two decimal places of precision. The preference is for this to default to 1 decimal place of precision. Two makes the report look cluttered, or so I have been informed :)
We are all aware that the data format can be adjusted in the report, but the preference is to have the default be changed to 1 decimal place so they wouldn't need to make this change *every* time. Is there a system XML change of some sort that might allow this or is it simply not possible?
Hi Lynn,
Please see this,
http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/cbi/v10r1m0/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.swg.im.cognos.ug_cra.10.1.0.doc%2Fug_cra_id37986asg_modify_cogformat.html
I know it mentions cogformat.xml work for query studio but, I think you need to test if this a global change for all studios since its at configuration/ dir level and its not like its studio spefic. I recommend making a backup and start with the changes. Hope this helps!
Thanks,
RK
The admins implemented this but we still got percent calcs coming up with 2 decimal places in Business Insight Advance.
Even if we got it to work I think it would have set the result for calcs using currency metrics or count metrics to one decimal place which they wouldn't have liked, so I think this might be one requirement to toss into the "not met" bucket.
Yes, I think you are right. They would need to request some sort of Hotfix for their environment from IBM directly.
Hi,
Why you are not setting the data format in Framework Manager?
Regards,
Rahul
The request was for this default to apply to any calculation the users might perform on an ad-hoc basis within the reporting tool....meaning calculations that are not included in the Framework model.
