Been a while since I posted here... what is the max rows returned based on using the search feature in Analysis Studio, I'm on 10.1 and you get a little "i" saying not all rows are represented "search to large"
also for custom filter on label (eg. TOY )
So in the custom filter senario I have a product hierarchy down to sku with 5000 rows displayed on the grid, when I filter on the SKU field using custom filter on label contains "TOY", do I capture all the items with TOY in the description or just from the 5000 displayed on the grid.. my hunch is the tool looks thru all the rows at sku level in the hierarchy not just the ones you display in the grid.

You should probably check the package configuration settings to see what the limit of displayed members is: in Cognos Connection, use the "more" link for the package folder, and choose "Modify the Package Configuration".
When you apply a filter to a dimension, the entire dimension is filtered, not just the members currently displayed in the analysis.
