Title: style preferences

How do you change user preferences for a group? I want all the users to use OurCompany skin instead of the default corporate skin. Is there a way to do this globally for all users?

Yes ... SDK.

SDK is the only option I'm aware of if you want only a particular group to have the company scheme.  If you wish to set it globally for everyone, you will need to complete several steps.

1) -- In the available skins, you will need to restrict access to most if not all the skins except corporate or change the the appropriate files (system.xml, index. html, default.html as well as others) to look at different default skin folder

2) If you take the easy route (which we did), modify the corporate skin on your gateway server(s) to contain all that modifications that result in your company look and feel.

3)If you wish to edit the default logo at the top portion of Cognos, you will need to use the Custom OEM headers section of the system.xml file to change that image.

See attached example of what can be achieved with some mild edits to the images and these files.  I'm currently working (when I can) on creating truly interactive dashboards and using java to create new "navigators".  I currently do not like the functionality of Cognos Navigator and for the moment am using a report that takes security from the databases to generate the list of available reports in a click/expand format.
