Hi all,
need a help on creating new data source in cognos connection with sql server backend. Not sure what information should go on below-

ODBC data source-?
ODBC connect string-?
Collation sequence-?

much appreciate your help.

If the DB is on the same network, you don't need to go thru ODBC. Use the 'Microsoft SQL Server (OLE DB)' setting and then specify the Server Name and the DB Name.
