Has anyone seen an updated document on Cognos Planning 10 scalability? Please forward the URL.

Updated:
Nope, I'm not aware of any updated version of this document.

Application limits are unchanged from 8 to 10, same restrictions apply. Moreover, some large models with extensive cut-downs work in 8, but cause issues in 10.

I don't want to disagree, but general contributor application limits were all increased with the release of 10.  Obviously the limits are recommendations and depending on the mix of variables you could still experience issues.

Cognos 8:
Pg 69:

Cognos 10:
Pg 67:

As for no data access tables and the use of cut-downs, the initial release of 10.1.0 had a defect where larger models utilizing cut downs had problems, but that was fixed in a hotsite shortly after release.  10.1.1 doesn't appear to have any of these problems.

As for scalability, the architectural aspects are mostly unchanged in terms of the specific roles each server serves.  In 10.1.1 the individual EP installs were segregated into a Complete, Server, Admin, Web, and Client install (compared to the Server, Admin, and Client from previous versions).  This gives you more control over what services are installed.

I haven't seen an updated document regarding these topics, however.

Thank you for corrections, ericlfg.

Must be 10.1.0 initial release problems, I just vaguely remember having to re-do a few things to make it work after upgrade.
