We have recently upgraded to 10.1 and are facing a strange issue with reports in IE8 and 7. When I try to run the reports from cognos connection, the page refreshes and redirects back to the folders page instead of the report actually running. There is no such issue when using IE9. But when i checked the IBM site for browser compatibility I see that both IE7 and 8 are supported. It has been 3 weeks since the issue cropped up and there has been no clue as to what might be the reason. Has anybody else faced something like this? or is there any suggestion on what might be the problem? Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I've never seen this behaviour before. It sounds odd. My guess is a browser settings issue.
What type of authentication are you using? Is Cognos in the trusted sites? Do you have "Enable Integrated Windows Authentication" checked? Do you have override automatic cookies handling enabled? What is "check for newer versions of stored pages" set to?
When you click on the report, does the screen go to another page (possibly blank) before refreshing back to the folder, or is it instantly refreshing? What happens if you paste the URL for the report directly into it? What happens if you log in directly to the dispatcher instead of via the gateway? http://<servername>:9300/p2pd/servlet/dispatch
Make a few attempts and check the cognos log on the gateway. That might have some clues as to what's going on.
