Title: migration

Is it possible to migrate just reports and models/packages, not the whole content store from one environment to another? If so, how?

Sure, just import/export a particular package/folder.

Not sure of te exact path(I'm sure Administrator can correct me ;D), but in Tools(in cognos connection), there is an import/export option.

click export, select the packages and the folders (from public folders), and this will create a zip file...I don't remember the exact path where the zip is stored

in the other environment, instead of choosing export, choose import, put in the location of the zip file created above and you should be good to go

Thank you for the details. I'll give that a try and see if it works. Thanks again.

If we want to migrate from development to production in cognos8

Development:cognos connection-->tools-->content administrator-->new export-->select package-->next-->-->-->it will export in to deployment folder(C:\Program Files\cognos\c8\deployment) as the zip file. copy this zip file

Production:paste this zip file in deployment folder(C:\Program Files\cognos\c8\deployment) and in cognos connection -->new import-->select package-->next-->-->--> now it can appear in cognos conection
