hello i am new here and my company has just started using Cognos 10 ... however I used Powerhouse for many years ... it was a 4GL written by Cognos when it was called Quasar and very few people remember it today 8)
Wow, old school. There are still a few grizzled greybeards here who've used Powerhouse, but they are few and far between.
Welcome to the forum!

Hurrah! Another PowerHouse person! There are a couple of us still around (well, you and me, by the looks of things) although I haven't used PowerHouse in a long, long time! Where else can you write a report in five words, or a fully functional data entry and maintenance screen in four lines of code? :)
When Paul referred to grizzled grey types, I'm sure he had a certain person in mind! No beards here, though! :)
Welcome to Cognoise!

8) thanks ... i do notice some slight resemblances between Powerhouse and the current Cognos
If you are using Compatible Query Mode (CQM), you still sometimes see errors prefixed "DMS-E" - this shows the heritage from the old Data Management Services layer written to underpin PowerHouse against relational sources. :)
